Record numbers of pensioners are insolvent as bankruptcy is expected to rise higher
Record numbers of pensioners were plunged into insolvency last year amid warnings the number will climb even higher in 2010. Disturbingly, the number of ' penniless pensioners' becoming insolvent is rising faster than any other age group. Nearly 7,000 lost their battle to keep financially afloat in 2009, tipped over the edge by large mortgages, personal loans and credit cards.
