Diversional Therapist / Activities Coordinator
Sunnyside Retirement Village is located in Haswell and opened in December 2006 with 50 villas, 40-bed rest home and 20-bed hospital care facility.
Sunnyside is a new Retirement Village that seeks the services of an enthusiastic and accomplished Diversional Therapist to work for an organisation that prides its self in care of the individual and encourages fullness of body, mind and spirit, and celebrates the cycles, transitions & achievements of life.
This hands-on role includes:
- Overseeing personal objectives & plans
- Maintaining, evaluating and reviewing the lifestyle needs of residents
- Ensuring the staffing model and plan to reflect the desired outcomes
- Coordinating and ensuring completion of lifestyle assessments & care plans
- Maintaining and reviewing all aspects of the DT’s continuous improvement program
- Assisted by one part time Diversional Therapist
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Registration with the NZSDT
- NZQA Qualifications in Diversional Therapy or working towards
- Previous experience as a Diversional Therapist in aged care
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven teamwork ability
- Demonstrated skills and ability with relevant documentation
- Experience working with the elderly
- Support to attend national NZSDT conference each year
