My name is AJ Aledron, and I have had the privilege of serving as Executive Treasurer of the New Zealand Society of Diversional and Recreational Therapists Inc. During my time on the Executive Board, I have focused on strengthening the Society's financial sustainability, improving governance systems, and supporting initiatives that benefit our members.

One of the highlights of this past year has been helping lead the financial planning for our Christchurch National Conference. Through careful budgeting and the incredible support of our volunteers, sponsors, presenters, and members, we have been able to deliver a financially sustainable conference while building stronger foundations for future events.

Professionally, I have recently transitioned from a leadership role in aged care into Learning and Development within the disability sector. This experience has reinforced my belief that Diversional and Recreational Therapy has an important and growing place across many areas of health and wellbeing.

I am passionate about serving our members and supporting the continued growth of our profession. If elected President, I look forward to building on the Society's strong foundations, fostering collaboration, and helping lead NZSDRT into its next chapter.
