New Zealand Sign Language Week
New Zealand Sign Language Week is an annual event that celebrates and promotes New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL), one of the official languages of New Zealand. This week aims to raise awareness about the language and the Deaf community, as well as to encourage the learning and use of NZSL among the wider population.
Key Objectives
To promote awareness of New Zealand Sign Language.
To encourage the learning of NZSL in schools and communities.
To celebrate the culture and achievements of the Deaf community.
