About the event
This reading group will be aimed at mātua who are second language learners of tamariki who are on a Te Reo Māori education pathway (early childhood-primary school aged). The aim is to empower these mātua to speak with confidence about a particular kaupapa and answer any language questions their tamariki may have.
Each week we will start by taking a deep dive into a pukapuka reo Māori that mātua can read with their tamariki; whakahua, kupu, wetereo, wānanga. The aim is that after the session mātua will be able to go home and read the book confidently with their tamariki and be able to answer questions that tamariki inevitably have!
