About the event
Join Emma Henderson, General Manager of the Tourette’s Association of New Zealand, to explore Tourette syndrome in an Aotearoa context.
This session will build awareness of what Tourette’s is, the realities for children and young people who experience it, and the impact it has on their whānau. Together, we will look at how professionals and communities can respond with compassion, reduce stigma, and support environments that allow tamariki with Tourette’s to thrive.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this session, participants will:
Gain a broader understanding of Tourette syndrome and the common experiences for tamariki living with it
Develop awareness of the challenges faced by tamariki and their whānau in everyday life, school, and community contexts
