Yuri Poblete

Kumusta? I'm Yuri Poblete, a proud Registered Diversional and Recreational Therapist who completed my qualification through Kauri Academy. I have found my professional home in Diversional and Recreational Therapy at St Andrew's Village in Auckland where I currently practice - every day is an opportunity to connect, uplift, and create moments that matter.

 

When the opportunity to serve as Registrar for NZSDRT Inc. came up, I applied with a clear intention to contribute meaningfully to the profession I love. During the interview process, I expressed my full commitment to upholding the integrity of our national registration system and supporting others on their journey. With a keen eye for detail and a genuine belief in our collective mahi, I'm excited to help maintain and grow the professionalism of our field. I truly believe national registration strengthens our credibility, creates accountability, and elevates the visibility of our role. While I plan to begin further nursing studies next year, I remain fully dedicated to maintaining my registration and continuing my advocacy for Diversional and Recreational Therapy.

 

Outside of work, I enjoy a good iced coffee, the colour yellow, and anything that brings people together. Pickleball has become a fun (my competitive dose) and escape that helps me recharge after a full week of mahi. I'm a homebody who can't stay home - happiest when I'm in feel-good spaces with good energy and meaningful

connections. I'm grateful to be part of this community and look forward to walking alongside you as we grow, support, and uplift each other in this vital profession.
